about

Curating reading soundtracks is something I started with issue 2 of "the organic music society" and for this one, I decided not just to find and write about the music, but to create a mix which you can play as easily as opening a book. – richard zhänig

James Redfield’s 1993 “The Celestine Prophecy – An Adventure” is steeped in 90s New Age ideology, embedded in a thrilling story. Cosmic Trek, its reading soundtrack, glides through the story line through lush ambient, amazonian post-funk, optimistically pure new age, cosmic grooves, Peruvian synthwave and many other genre-defying tunes. Imagine mystic voices from civilisations that have passed on long ago, their echoes still floating through the eternal ether. The musical expression of camp fires that bring light and warmth to the darkness. Celestial bliss manifested on tape.

The 120 minutes of music have been compiled using 100% solar energy and recorded onto recycled, high-quality chrome tapes. So get your phone or walkman out, find a good second-hand copy of the book and find a place in nature to sit down and read. Grow.
